The Miller Lite Catfight Girls - Legends of the 2000s

The late 90s and early 2000s were a wild time when catfight fans got their money's worth. Whether in movies, series, in talk shows like The Jerry Springer Show or in the entertainment sector with the WWE Divas or Carmen Electra's Naked Women's Wrestling League (NWWL): Catfights had been discovered everywhere as a popular attraction for audience ratings. Thus, they became more or less part of the mainstream, while the eroticism of female fighting in connection with attraction between women were previously only perceived as marginal phenomena.

The advertising industry also liked to use the stylistic device "catfight" at the time. Perhaps the most outstanding were the commercials for the Miller Brewery from Milwaukee, Wisconsin around 2002. The rivalry between Kitana Baker (brunette) and Tanya Ballinger (blonde), the Miller Lite Catfight Girls, over "Great Taste" and "Less Filling" went down in history. Never again would an advertising campaign attract so much attention. The excitement even went so far that Baker and Ballinger had a joint appearance with Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson at WWE WrestleMania XIX. Something like that would be hard to imagine nowadays.

But from today's perspective, these commercials were rather ridiculous. Although the two actresses undoubtedly gave the world great performances. It's also not to be underestimated how many people discovered their weakness for catfighting through this specific advertising campaign. Especially those who grew up during this time, like myself. Even if it's more than obvious that it was only aimed at affecting the subconscious, male buying behavior. No more and no less.
The Miller Lite Catfight Girls have long shaped my personal image of the rivalry between blondes and brunettes. I even have a little crush on Kitana Baker to this day. How I would have loved to see the hot Catfight Girls settling their dispute woman to woman. In fact, Kitana Baker did a few pornos and erotic scenes, but unfortunately never anything catfight-like.
