The Act

Ildikó (blonde) and Venera (black-haired) have never met before. Despite this, they enthusiastically perform a sacred ritual together, as recorded in the centuries-old scrolls inherited from their mothers and grandmothers. Their families belong to the Order of Diantomeia, which has upheld the traditions of the Amazons for untold generations. The Act for Neilyte is a ceremonial fight, which represents the symbolic propinquity of the tribadic contest to the natural elements. Therefore, the act must be performed on a beach, where water meets earth under the open sky. According to tradition, the loser of the fight must wash herself clean in the same waters in which the duel was fought, and seek forgiveness from the goddesses for the weaknesses of her body and her will.
